TiviMate is the undisputed king of IPTV players, but out of the box, it's not optimized. Like a sports car, you need to tune it for peak performance.
Most users experience buffering, slow channel zapping, or EPG loading issues simply because they haven't unlocked TiviMate's hidden potential.
In this guide, we share the exact settings profile used by StreamVexa power users who watch 4K streams without a single buffer.
Location: Settings > Playback > Buffer Size
The default buffer is "Medium". This is too small for 4K streams.
| Stream Quality | Recommended Buffer | |----------------|-------------------| | SD/HD | Medium | | Full HD (1080p) | Large | | 4K UHD | Very Large |
Why it matters: A larger buffer downloads more video ahead of time. This smooths out micro-interruptions from your internet.
Location: Settings > Playback > Decoder
Set this to "Hardware".
Software decoding uses your CPU, which causes the Firestick to overheat and throttle. Hardware decoding offloads the work to a dedicated chip built for video processing.
If you see a black screen on some channels, switch temporarily to "Auto" for that specific playlist.
Location: Settings > Playback > Auto Frame Rate
Enable this. TiviMate will automatically switch your TV's refresh rate to match the content:
This eliminates judder and tearing, especially noticeable during fast-paced action.
Location: Settings > EPG > Update Mode
Set to "Every 24 hours" and uncheck "Update on App Start".
Many users set this to update every hour, which:
StreamVexa's EPG is already updated server-side every 4 hours. You don't need to refresh it locally more than once a day.
Location: Settings > Appearance
These small changes make TiviMate feel snappier.
Location: Settings > Playlists > [Your Playlist] > Xtream Codes Parameters
Set Timeout to 30 seconds (default is 10).
Some channels, especially during peak times (Super Bowl, Champions League Final), take longer to negotiate a connection. A longer timeout prevents "Cannot Connect" errors.
Location: Settings > Playlists > [StreamVexa] > Manage Groups
If you only watch US Sports and UK Entertainment, hide groups like:
Fewer groups = faster EPG loading and less scrolling.
Location: Settings > Playback > External Player
If you experience issues with specific 4K channels, try routing them through MX Player or VLC.
MX Player sometimes handles tricky codecs better than TiviMate's built-in player.
Location: Settings > Recordings > Storage
Do NOT record to the Firestick's internal storage. It's only ~5GB and will fill up instantly.
Instead:
You can now record entire seasons of shows without worrying about space.
Location: While watching, hold Select > Multi-View
Multi-View is amazing, but it multiplies bandwidth usage:
